Invest York Road is a bold initiative enabling community members to make small investments into a community-controlled fund that will be used to buy and redevelop commercial property along Baltimore's York Road Corridor. Through their small investments, residents will be able to build wealth, and by maintaining ownership of the properties, the community will be able to nurture a vibrant commercial corridor with thriving businesses aligned with residents' interests and needs.
Savings: This class explores the concept of savings, strategies to build personal savings, and tools such as budgeting. By the end of the module, you will have a specific and measurable plan that meets your personal savings needs. You will also have the understanding needed to make smart adjustments as life happens along the way. This module is a great foundation class with outcomes you can apply immediately. Be prepared to examine all your income and expenses as part of the exercises.

Debt: In this class, you will learn about debt and how it works. We will explore strategies for reducing debt and gain an understanding of the results of not paying debts or having debts in collection. While debt can be intimidating to talk about, this module will help you approach it from a strategic and simple point of view. Most importantly, this module will give you straight forward steps and resources for attacking different types of debt.
Investing: In this class, we will explore different types of investments, including stocks, bonds, and real estate, so you can make informed decisions about your financial future. We also introduce Invest York Road's innovative investment model, which allows community members to make small-dollar investments into a community-controlled fund that will be used to buy and redevelop commercial property along the York Road Corridor.
Credit: In this class, we explore the reality and value of credit and how to use it to build personal wealth. You will learn how to examine credit scores, read and obtain credit reports, and build reasonable, while avoiding unhealthy, credit.
