The Student Borrower Protection Center and Dēmos are announcing a virtual conference on student debt cancellation. The event will feature leading advocates, academics, and policymakers discussing how a future administration committed to supporting student loan borrowers can provide immediate debt relief for millions using existing authorities under the Higher Education Act. Participants will explore how to deliver promised relief to servicemembers, public servants, defrauded borrowers, and other vulnerable groups, as well as broad-based debt cancellation to support the nation's economic recovery and end the student debt crisis for Black and brown borrowers.
The virtual conference will feature speakers from organizations including, the Harvard Project on Predatory Lending, the Student Borrower Protection Center, the National Consumer Law Center, Veterans Education Success, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and more.
